Loren Scott was born in Pasco, Washington, into a family where music was a way of life. His father, a professional musician who played with big bands, also worked in sales for numerous music organizations, while his mother was a talented pianist and teacher. This nurturing environment fostered Loren’s love for music at a young age, and by the time he was 12, he had picked up the bass guitar. His musical talents didn’t stop there—he also plays guitar, contributes backup vocals on recordings, and writes his own original songs. In fact, Loren has always favored performing original music in his bands, believing in the importance of creative expression.
Over the years, Loren’s musical journey has spanned a wide range of genres, including Punk Rock, Southern Rock, Blues, and Thrash Metal. He has played in a variety of bands and recorded multiple albums with groups like Dominion Fiend, Hexmen, Jack Death, Purefire, and Voyslis, among others. His career has also brought him to stages shared with national touring acts such as Machine Head, Death Angel, Flotsam and Jetsam, Vio-lence, and Forbidden, showcasing his versatility and commitment to the craft.
A musician with deep roots in the world of rock and metal, Loren’s influences are diverse and iconic. Artists such as Geezer Butler, Geddy Lee, Dann Glenn, Les Claypool, Mike Dean, and Victor Wooten have all left their mark on his playing style. With over four decades of experience under his belt, Loren has proven himself to be a dedicated and passionate artist who continues to push forward with an unstoppable drive.
One of the longest-running projects in his career is Unprovoked, an old-school thrash metal band he has been part of since 1993. The band remains active, performing local shows and touring twice a year. Their most recent full-length album received a strong response, and they are currently in the final stages of writing their next album, aiming for a release in early 2025.
In recent years, Loren has expanded his involvement in the music industry by working behind the scenes, using his decades of experience to support artists and contribute to the business side of music. Whether it’s collaborating with fellow musicians, supporting the development of new gear, or refining his own musical projects, Loren is always pushing boundaries. His move into these behind-the-scenes roles has opened up new avenues for him to shape the industry in ways he’s passionate about.
Now, joining forces with Ashen Amplification represents the next major step in Loren’s career. As part of Ashen’s team, Loren’s expertise and love for high-quality sound and equipment are put to use in helping develop and promote top-tier gear.
